PAINT AND TOOLS SUPPLY LIST

I’ve put together this supply list with a complete beginner in mind. Although the color palette I recommend is a limited palette, it allows you to create color harmony in your paintings. I’ll go further into this in class, when we are working on color mixing.

Any questions before you buy supplies feel free to contact me!

PAINT REQUIRED:

Tube Colors Required:

  • Titanium White

  • Lemon Yellow/Yellow Light

  • Quinacridone Red

  • Alizarin Crimson

  • Raw Sienna

  • Ultramarine Blue

The photos of tube paint above are options of brands that I recommend. They are all student/professional grade, but not a basic brand. Links to websites where you can buy these brands below:

Please don’t deviate from this palette because, when it comes to color mixing, you will get a different result from what I intend.

TOOLS REQUIRED:

1 Pad of Paper Required

Quick and Easy Cleanup, Mid-toned Grey Palette Paper.

I’ll explain my choice for this in class

1 Pack of Assorted Paint Brushes Required

This picture is just for example. All art stores linked on this page will have varying multi-packs. Make sure they are specific for acrylic or oil paint.

ADDITIONAL TOOLS:

  • Free Standing Portable Easel (Michael’s has a nice lightweight, sturdy easel for under $20. Some supplies stores also have light weight, metal easels for around $15)

  • Small Palette Knife (for mixing color)

  • Roll of paper towel

  • Small bag for trash

  • Small container for water

  • Apron, depending on how messy you are
